‘GIF the Portrait’ Week on Giphy!

Team Giphy is a huge fan of the 'GIF the Portrait’ project and we wanted to share our admiration for the experiment. What better way to introduce our followers to 'GIF the Portrait’ than to devote a week to it?

What is 'GIF the Portrait’? Started by New York-based artist and professor Ryan Seslow, the project is an ongoing collaborative collective. It started as a class project that transcended into an open call for anyone interested in GIF making and using their definition of a portrait as the subject.

'GIF the Portrait’ is all about re-defining what we consider a traditional portrait — re-organizing a representational image into a more subjective one or by creating a hybrid.  And the more people who collaborate on the project, the better it gets! Want to join the portrait GIF-ing revolution? Visit the 'GIF the Portrait’ Tumblr and do some exploring! And if you want to create one of your own, you can find out more details after the link!

We’re certain that after viewing the portraits showcased this week, you’ll want to try one for yourself.
