Giphy Looks Back on Last Week
Last Friday, we started a new feature where we told you what OUR favorite GIFs of the week were. But now we’re here to answer the question: “what the hell were YOU GUYS looking at on Giphy last week?” So, here are some of the most popular GIFs from Giphy.com for the week of 3/24/14.
Beyonce is never not popular on Giphy, but this above GIF from her “Who Runs The World (Girls)” music video rocketed to the top of our most viewed GIFs, thanks in part to it’s inclusion in The Huffington Post’s article about the joys of dating feminist guys.
Another favorite came from the Mr GIF team — they created this GIF for Game of Thrones’ “Beautiful Death” project.
Amazingly, this classic GIF (which is too awkwardly endearing to call a ‘FAIL’) had a resurgence in views. What led to this clumsy kid being embraced by the general public again? Just look at him! Why aren’t we ALWAYS watching this GIF?
For almost an entire year, the 'Minions’ tag on Giphy was among the most popular tags on the site, so it was a little disconcerting to see it drop off the top 10 searched tags two weeks ago. Not to fret, the 'Minions’ tag came roaring back last week! It’s now situated in its rightful place, alongside tag stalwarts like 'Happy’, 'Dancing’, and 'Kate Upton’.
